Caribe Town is located 3 short kilometers south of the bustling town of Puerto Viejo. Nestled in the Refugio Nacional Gandoca-Manzanillo (jungle refuge – protected lands!), we are 150 meters from Playa Cocles (less than a 2 minute walk); one half mile south of Salsa Brava (the location of the international surfing competition every May) and one half mile north of Punta Uva (one of Outsider Magazine’s “10 Most Beautiful Beaches”)

We are a small resort with 5 bungalows, each sleeping 2-3 people, privately situated throughout the landscaped property. We also offer 2 suites in a main house to provide for full capacity of 10-22 people. Each bungalow includes a matrimonial bed (2 persons) and twin bed (1 person), separate bathroom with tiled shower, local hardwood décor, and private porch with hammock suitable for relaxing or taking an afternoon nap. Bungalows are available with AC or “natural” - screened with fans. Breakfast is included in your stay and we also offer meal plans, special dinners and menu service. For a night out, we’re happy to point you in the right direction. There are a multitude of fabulous local restaurants suitable for romantic dinners or group/family settings within 1km of the resort, including our favorite all natural, local ingredient café – Jungle Love. If you are ready for a night on the town head into Puerto Viejo and dance the night away to a Reggae band on the beach.

We maintain a lovely saline pool (no chemicals!) with benches and jets for 10 people, a waterfall and 5 seats for the swim up bar. There is a lovely outdoor shower perfect for rinsing off after surfing or walking the beach. All varieties of drinks are available at the bar, served right in the pool if you like the idea as much as we do! Additionally, we have therapy services (massage, acupuncture, among others) available either on site or at a nearby incredible jungle location. We are able to arrange tours for almost anything you could imagine – zip lines through the canopy, white water rafting, nighttime turtle watching, snorkeling, surfing, horseback riding or visiting the local sloth sanctuary and cocoa farms – all add to the experience. One of our favorite is only a 5 minute walk down the road – the Jaguar Rescue Center allows you to spend time with howler monkeys and sloths…incredible!

We are excited to start taking reservations for the beginning of May 2010. The bungalows are private for a romantic getaway or alternately the entire property is ideal for family reunions, bachelorette parties or other group events up to 18-22 people. We are currently offering private transfers and 6 nights double accommodations, including daily breakfast, for US$290 per person.
