Just south of lively Puerto Viejo and only a few steps from beautiful Playa Cocles (Cocles Beach) on Costa Rica’s South Caribbean, you’ll find Caribe Town Hotel, the perfect place for your vacation adventure. We are a family run hotel offering five Bungalows and one Suite. With a maximum capacity of twelve, it’s a pleasure to provide quality, personalized attention to help you enjoy our paradisical area.
Breakfast is included. Breakfast is served on the 1st floor of the main house of the Hotel from 7:30am to 10am. We serve a new special each day, as well as a classic breakfast of eggs cooked your way, bacon or avocado & homemade bread, with an exotic gourmet fruit plate. Depending on the season we use bananas and papayas from our backyard. Of course, we include fresh Costa Rican coffee, tea, milk and juice. Almost everything is homemade! Our bread and jams, some examples of our constantly changing breakfast options are muffins with bananas and oranges grown onsite, pancakes from scratch, coconut French toast with our homemade bread, our maple syrup…yup….homemade from organic extract – as close as possible to the tree! Don’t forget to try Sundays special of “Gallo Pinto”…the Costa Rican daily breakfast of rice, beans and vegetables!
Just because you are adventuring in the jungle-rainforest does not mean you have to give up your favorite modern world amenities…. Caribe Town offers; free WIFI throughout, memory foam pillow top orthopedic mattresses, all showers offer hot water, towels for both showering and beach-pool, all spaces offer large ceiling fans, the Suite and Superior Honeymoon Bungalows offer air conditioning and satellite flat screen television.
Our small refreshing pool includes benches with hydro massage jets, swim up bar with stools and lights for nighttime. A lovely place to take some sun on the poolside terrace or enjoy a book in the shade while enjoying a fresh frozen cocktail, beer or local fruit smoothie. Sun loungers await you poolside or a bit of shade at the dining table under the Pipa and sea almond trees is a terrific spot to have a snack and watch the birds in the trees.

Full menu of options available from aromatherapy massage, acupuncture, body treatments, facials. Try the house special chocolate exfoliating body massage and scrub, using the first press cacao from from local Tsiru-ue Indigenous tribe, a treat not to be missed!
Wander the gardens of the hotel and surrounding small roads. Watch our frog pond in the central gardens to see how the tadpoles are coming along and how the population of green dart frogs and red eyed tree frogs is growing. Try to find the mommy and baby sloth that have been hanging out, focus at night for the Kinkajous or just enjoy many varieties of Heleconias and our ever-diversifying collection of animals, plants, flowers and fruits onsite. Depending on the season and migratory routes you can also see; howler monkeys, sloths, agoti/watusa, kinkajous, armadillos, ant eaters, possums, raccoons, butterflies of all varieties, toucans, aracaris, hummingbirds, owls, giant blue crabs, geckos, mountain ducks, oropendolas, woodpeckers, tanagers… or something new…it can happen at any time!
We think it’s important to maintain the beautiful jungle and wildlife we’ve found and try to make it better! We have a profound respect for animal and plant life, local knowledge and believe strongly in helping our local community. We have a recycling center in the parking area of the hotel and we compost for our happy little animal friends.
